On March 21st, LifeInLorain visited “Grilled”; a small sandwich shop nestled away in the Avon Lake Landings. The restaurant prides itself on “great sandwiches and awesome shakes.” Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted by delicious smells coming from the kitchen.
The sandwich shop is cheerily decorated, and is neat and clean in appearance. The counter help was friendly and courteous and very helpful. John Naly, who has owned and operated “Grilled” for nearly one year finished working on a sandwich masterpiece and was more than happy to come out and sit down with me for a few moments.
“Grilled” has an extensive menu, with practically any sandwich you can think of. “One of our popular featured sandwiches is the Cuban,” John said. “It is pulled pork which has been slow roasted for 8 hours, served with Ham, melted Swiss cheese, dilled pickles and spicy Dijon mustard on a large grilled ciabatta sub.”
I could tell John is proud of the food he serves up. “We also have a Tuscan garden sandwich for those who don’t eat meat. It is fresh Portobello mushroom, mozzarella cheese and crisp baby spinach grilled on flat bread with a touch of homemade pesto,” he said with a smile. “And all of our shakes are made with real ice cream,” he added.
Tasty sandwiches aren’t the only things “Grilled” serves up. They have soups and salads. fries, onion rings, corn dog bites, mac-n-cheese, and many different dipping sauces. Or, you can create your own sandwich with any bread or ingredients.
Located in the Avon Lake Landings, across from Mark Pi’s Chinese Restaurant, you can eat there, or take out your food to a nearby park. Call ahead and John will have your order ready to go when you get there. LifeInLorain thinks you will be pleased. We were.
