Christmas Post Day 21 12/21/2012

by Mark Schrull

12/21/12 Sheffield Village, Ohio – There is nothing like going to a Christmas concert to get you in the mood for Christmas.  This evening, LifeInLorain attended  a good one – The TrueNorth Christmas Concert, which featured the TrueNorth Chorale, Symphony,  and Jazz Ensemble.Concert2

The Concert took place at
TrueNorth Cultural Arts
French Creek Nature & Arts Center
4530 Colorado Ave.
Sheffield Village, OH 44054

The setting and venue was very small and intimate, almost as if you were sitting with the talented musicians.

The TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony is directed by Rick Fortney.
The TrueNorth Jazz Ensemble is directed by Eric Dregne.

Definitely a delight to the ears, there was Christmas music for everyone.  From traditional well-known Christmas carols like Away in the Manger and
Concert6O Come All Ye Faithful, to Symphony pieces like Magnificat  with a solo by
Janine Porter.

The music was great and the atmosphere was festive.  Here are a few more photos.

Christmas Post Day 18 12/18/2012

by Mark Schrull

12/18/12 Lorain, Ohio – One week til Christmas.  I see the excitement building everywhere.  Last night, LifeInLorain attended the 6th, 7th, & 8th grade, DMS Choirs Christmas concert, held at Clearview High school.  Everyone was dressed so beautifully in their holiday gear – Christmas sweaters, and Christmas colors; funny hats with reindeer horns.  The auditorium was filled with Christmas cheer!

The chorus sang like angels.  It was clear they’ve been practicing since Programsummer.  Our Granddaughter, Alexandria Moore sang a solo.  Rhonda and I were very proud of her.

All of the children sang exceptionally well and it really got us in the Christmas mood listening to the carols.DSCF6791

Congratulations to all the singers and  the music teachers who directs and teaches them.

I highly recommend attending any holiday concert schools near you produce no matter what part of the world you live in.  They bring back memories of my High School years and the fun we had and are a great big injection of Christmas cheer at just the right time.

Christmas Post Day 17 12/17/2012

by Mark Schrull

12/17/12 Lorain, Ohio – Christmas time is a goodly time.  A time of amazement through a child’s eyes.  A time of displaying collections passed down through the generations.  These salt and pepper shakers were passed down to me from my brother.  He received them from my mother.  They are simple ceramic shakers.  Each year with anticipation they are brought out at Christmas time.

This is post 17 of The Christmas Post project.  Merry Christmas.

This last picture was scanned on a flat bed scanner.  Part of Christmas is showing collections from by gone days.  This post is about keepsakes.
