Dawn 3-1-14 Lorain County Ohio USA

by Mark E. Schrull

3/1/14 Lorain, Ohio – The dawn was spectacular this morning.  The sun didn’t burst through at any point but it managed to light up the horizon just before it passed behind the clouds.

Sunrise 2-28-14 Lorain County Ohio USA

by Mark E. Schrull

2/28/14 Lorain, Ohio – It was cold this morning at sunrise with temperatures below zero.  But as the sun ascended, birds paused in tree tops to pay homage. They worshiped the sun perched upon natural altars which glowed red with the fire of life.

The photographs below have not been edited or altered in any manner.  The colors are exactly as they downloaded off the camera.  I only cropped and adjusted for size.        The tree branches really are glowing red.

Snow Again 2-27-14 Lorain County Ohio USA

by Mark E. Schrull

2/27/14 Lorain, Ohio – Here we go again, another snow storm hits us and the North Pole sends her best.  At some points there are white outs followed by bursts of sun and then white out again.  An arctic blast is sending high winds and cold across partially open Lake Erie waters. Below are some photos of Day’s Dam Metro park.  The Downy Woodpecker made an appearance.                         Use care when driving.
