2/16/14 Lorain, Ohio – Last night was another cold one in Northern Ohio. A clear sky over night allowed temperatures to fall to a low of 14 degree (F) at 3:21 AM; as recorded by the Lorain Water Plant along the lake shore. The clear sky allowed a full view of a rising Full Moon.

The Black River is completely frozen over at the East 31 Street Bridge.
Below are photographs taken today from the gorge over-look at Day’s Dam Metro Park, part of the Lorain County Metro Park’s Black River Reservation.
Below are photos of the river from the same spot this past fall and summer.
Currently there is about 18 to 24 inches of snow on the ground. With rain and temperatures expected in the fifties this Thursday, some flooding is a possibility. Below are photos of the fence row taken today along the parking lot of Day’s Dam.
The female Cardinal stopped by for breakfast this morning at the feeder.
