Snow Again 2-27-14 Lorain County Ohio USA

by Mark E. Schrull

2/27/14 Lorain, Ohio – Here we go again, another snow storm hits us and the North Pole sends her best.  At some points there are white outs followed by bursts of sun and then white out again.  An arctic blast is sending high winds and cold across partially open Lake Erie waters. Below are some photos of Day’s Dam Metro park.  The Downy Woodpecker made an appearance.                         Use care when driving.

Snow Continues 2-5-14 Lorain County Ohio USA

by Mark E. Schrull

2/5/14 Lorain, Ohio – The winter storm arrived over night and dropped between 4 to 6 inches on Lorain county, depending where you live.  Here on my street in South Lorain we received about 6 inches.  That didn’t stop people from enjoying The Lorain County Metro Parks.  Here a unidentified  winter traveler enjoys cross-country skiing through Day’s Dam.

The Lorain County Metro Park workers were busy this morning clearing the side walks and the parking areas at Day’s Dam.

All though I really don’t want to go out, our bird seed supply has been consumed.  Don’t forget to feed the birds today if you can.

FOG 2-1-14 Lorain County Ohio USA

by Mark E. Schrull

2/1/14 Lorain Ohio – Once again the woods and river fooled me.  As the afternoon began, and the snow gave way to rain, a dense fog rose from the river valley and spread into the park.  It gave the forest a mystical look and turned the dreary scene to a sea of dreams.
